ZEMAN Steel Beam Assembly (SBA) Robot
CPE Construction installed and commissioned a Zeman Steel Beam Assembly (SBA) Robot in 2024.
This state-of-the-art machine equipped with an automated infeed and outfeed system uses robotic arms to position and weld attachments like stiffeners, brackets, and other components onto steel beams.
It’s also equipped with 3D scanning technology to ensure accurate positioning of components, enhanced precision, and a reduction in errors.
The machine also picks up heavy plates with a magnet, holding them in position whilst they are being welded. It also turns beams up to 18m long without the need of an overhead crane,
This all provides extra production capacity and safety that complements the highly capable fabricators at CPE whose expertise are also used on complex 3D structures which cannot be welded through the robot.
This machine is a part of a larger investment in cutting-edge technologies such as 3D Construction Modelling, Colourised Point Cloud Scanning, Tekla Powerfab, and STSX Barcode System which sets us apart from our competitors.
All of these tools are integrated which facilitates a streamlined, data complete design process with piece mark traceability which ensures that our solutions meet any client’s needs.
